Why a Free Web Site is not a Free Web Site?

There are many youth sport web site related services on the market today that provide free web sites.

Are free youth sport web site services really free?

We started USA Youth Football in 2002 because as coaches and parents of players we became frustrated with the web site our local youth group used. The main reasons for this frustration was the lack of easy site navigation and the speed in which the site loaded, so why did the site load so slow ?

Well first you have to understand how these services are able to offer Free sites.

First

Free website services are based upon Ad revenues to pay for the free sites, what this means is that visitors to your site are being forced fed ads in which your group has no control over nor does your group receive any meaningful revenues from, if at all.

Second

Free websites are created using what is call a shared application service. This means that all the free web sites a service has are all using the same server recources to manage and display the site itself. The more sites it has on it's server the slower the dispaly times for each site.

Third

Free website services can not respond quickly to request for customized features or functions. They need to first weigh the benefits of the many against the benefits of the few before they will do anything. So although you may eventually get your request met, chances are it will not be in a short period of time, nor will it function ideally to meet your needs..

These are the 3 factors you must know about before you decide to use these Free Web Site Services. We are not saying these services are not worth using, you just need to be able to make an informed decision before using them.
